Stuckeridge
   
Description: River Exe. About 1200m. 9 named pools and runs. The river is about 20 yards wide and should be fished with a 10-12ft fly rod.

A very pretty and productive beat. Easy to wade and fish. Produces salmon, grayling, brown trout and the very occasional sea-trout. Like most middle Exe beats needs rain to fish well.

Both banks apart from bottom 350yards which is Right-hand bank only.The top two pools fish best from the left bank. The remainder fishes best from the right bank.

Directions: The beat runs downstream from Stuckeridge Bridge at Black Cat to Chain Bridge.
   
Availability: INFREQUENT. One rod from 5.30pm on some weekday evenings and occasional all day Saturday as available on an ad-hoc basis. Lance Nicholson Tackle will have details of updated availability. Early booking advised.
   
Parking: Park in places shown on map. Access the lower part of the beat through the white gate to the left of the thatched Lodge and go over Chain Bridge. In dry weather go through the gate into the meadow and the lower half of the beat can be accessed by car. 4WD
   
Access: Fairly easy wading in most places. Easy fishing.
   
Species: Salmon, trout, grayling and very occasional sea-trout.
